Orange Banana Ginger Smoothie

It’s Citrus Season! Most people think it’s during the summer, when actually, you’ll see a lot more citrus fruit in the produce section in mid to late winter months. From January through March, the produce section is jumping with grapefruit, blood oranges (one of my favorite oranges), oranges, clementines and tangerines. This is a really good time to help boost your immune system with the high amounts of vitamin C you’ll get. And you can use them in all sorts of recipes.

In this video, I made a smoothie using oranges and instead of  water, I used green tea which is high in antioxidants, which may help protect your cells from the effects of free radicals in and around your body.

Serves 1 – 2
1 cup coconut milk
1 banana
2 oranges, peeled
2 inch ginger
1 cup spinach
½ tsp cinnamon
¼ c green tea
