Vegan Peach Cobbler Smoothie

Peach Cobbler Smoothie
It’s peach season here in Alabama. You can go to any farmer’s market and find basket-loads of peaches from several farmers. The most popular, Chilton County peaches, are sweet, juicy and are hard to resist in old fashioned ice cream or Peach Park’s famous fried pies. There’s one thing that rings true for almost all of these peach products, they are loaded with fat and sugar, something that’s not the best for your body or your health.

One of my husband’s favorite desserts is peach cobbler. Although this dish is so delicious, it contains lots of sugar and flour (if it’s in pie or cobbler form) and butter. I wanted to come up with a not too sweet, yet delicious and healthier alternative for this treat as a smoothie.

Benefits of peaches
– Loaded with fiber which helps you lose weight and have healthy bowel function
– Diuretic which is good for the kidneys and liver
– Contains Vitamin A and C which make peaches a great natural moisturizer; therefore keeping your skin healthy and youthful
-Fight against diabetes and cardiovascular disease
-A healthy stress-reliever that helps reduce anxiety
-Helps prevent cancer with selenium
